NORTH GEORGIA HEALTH DISTRICT

Healthy people, families, and communities.

In order to receive services at the Living Bridge Center new patients must go through an eligibility determination. Once completed, this process only needs to be completed every six months.

Once eligible, you are able to access all the services and medical care designed to help you reach the best level of healthy living.

MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS

In order to be eligible for services with The Living Bridge Center, you must be HIV+ (unless you are wanting PrEP or STD services).
If you have proof of your status with you, bring it to your eligibility appointment. If you do not have proof, we can provide you a confirmatory test free of charge.

RESIDENCE REQUIREMENTS

The Living Bridge Center serves individuals living with HIV in the six-county region of Northern Georgia. These counties are: Whitfield, Cherokee, Fannin, Gilmer, Pickens, Murray.

We can see patients who meet all of the eligibility requirements and who live outside of these six counties. Please consult with your Nurse Case Manager for details regarding receiving services while living outside of our six-county region.

FINANCIAL REQUIREMENTS

Most eligible patients received services free of charge at The Living Bridge Center. In order to be financially eligible, you cannot make more than 400% of the Federal Poverty Level. This will be explained to you during your eligibility appointment. Bring your proof of income to your first appointment.

INSURANCE REQUIREMENTS

Patients of The Living Bridge Center do not have to have insurance coverage. Our Benefits Coordinator will work with you to determine if you have insurance, are eligible for insurance or will receive services cost free using Federal funds.

North Georgia Health District (NGHD) and the Living Bridge Center (TLBC) do not refuse services based on age, religion, race, economic status, sexual orientation, or mode of transmission.

Message From Ray King, District Director of Environmental Health:ray.jpg
Exactly what is environmental health? Most people are surprised to learn of all the different things we do. We enforce regulations but we also provide many services to the public. We are part of public health but overlap with areas of environmental protection. You might find us inspecting a restaurant, giving advice to a homeowner on asbestos or lead paint, investigating a complaint, issuing a septic system permit, interviewing a victim of West Nile, reviewing a subdivision, sending off the head of a raccoon for rabies testing, and many more activities. We’ve come a long way from the days when most of environmental health concerned simple sanitation.

Are you ready for an emergency?
family home 2Natural disasters, like widespread epidemics, earthquakes and flooding, or man-made ones, such as fire or explosions, can happen without warning. Being prepared for emergencies can greatly lessen injury and loss of life or property. The North Georgia Health District is part of the emergency preparedness and response network in each of our counties - Cherokee, Fannin, Gilmer, Murray, Pickens and Whitfield - and we are coordinating plans with our partners to make our communities better prepared for disaster.

It's too late to prepare once a disaster strikes. Getting yourself and your family informed on proper safety procedures and securing a few easy-to-acquire supplies ahead of time can go a long way towards easing the impact of a disaster or emergency.
