Blue Ridge, GA – The Fannin County Environmental Health office will soon relocate to better serve residents. The current office at 95 Ouida Street, Blue Ridge, will close Friday, August 22, 2025, in preparation for the move. The office will reopen Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at its new location: 344 West Main Street, Blue Ridge, GA 30513 (formerly Old Fire Station #1).

Shannon Bradburn, Manager, Fannin County Environmental HealthShannon Bradburn, Manager of Fannin County Environmental Health, said the move is strategic.
“This will put us right across from the courthouse and in much closer proximity to the building and land development departments as well as the tax assessor's office, which will make it more convenient for the public to have access to our services and for us to have a better community presence,” said Bradburn. “It will also provide us with more needed space.”
Services Offered
Fannin County Environmental Health provides a wide range of public health protection services, including:
- Septic system permits, inspections, and approvals
- Food service permits and inspections for restaurants and mobile food units
- Public swimming pool inspections and permits
- Hotel, motel, and tourist accommodation inspections
- Tattoo and body art studio permits and inspections

- Monday – Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Closed for lunch: 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM

ELLIJAY, GA — The Gilmer County Health Department will move to a new, expanded location at 822 Industrial Blvd, Suite 100, Ellijay, GA 30540, opening Monday, August 18, 2025. After nearly six decades at 28 Southside Church Street, the relocation marks a major milestone in public health services for Gilmer County residents.
To prepare for the move, the health department will close temporarily from Wednesday, August 13, through Friday, August 15.
Gilmer County Health Department, New Location as of Aug. 18, 2025, 822 Industrial Blvd., EllijayThe Gilmer County Health Department provides a broad range of preventive and clinical services, including immunizations, family planning, child health screenings, nutrition programs such as WIC, and an international travel clinic that serves the entire region. The department is also a key partner in local emergency preparedness and response efforts.
“This move is about much more than a change of address—it’s about honoring our past while building a stronger, healthier future,” said Krystal Sumner, RN, BSN, Gilmer County Nurse Manager. “For nearly 60 years, we’ve been proud to serve this community from our Southside Street location.”

“We are here for everyone,” Sumner said, “whether it’s a child coming in for vaccines, a family seeking nutrition support, or someone needing confidential testing and health guidance. Our goal is to ensure that no matter who you are, where you come from, or what language you speak, you feel welcome and receive the care you need.”

Cherokee County, GA - Is your child ready for the upcoming school year with*Georgia’s school health requirements? Get it all done safely, conveniently, and affordably at a one-stop spot! The Cherokee County Health Department is conducting Back-to-School-Health-Clinics. The required Hearing, Dental, Vision, and BMI/Nutrition Screenings will be available. The total cost for screenings is $60. Immunizations needed for school children will be provided for $21.90 each (for uninsured or underinsured). Medicaid (including Amerigroup, CareSource, Peachstate, and WellCare), PeachCare for Kids, Humana, Aetna, United HealthCare, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Ambetter, Cigna, and Coventry are accepted.
For the Woodstock Health Center location, clinics will be on THREE upcoming Tuesdays: July 22, July 29, and August 5. The time on all dates is 1 PM to 6 PM.
