On-Site Sewage Management (OSSMS)

This program regulates the location and installation of various types of septic tank systems. This is the largest Environmental Health programs. Permits must be obtained before the installation of a sewage system. The purpose of the rules and regulations is to protect the ground and surface waters of the state from contamination with disease causing bacteria and virus, thus protecting the public health of our citizens.
