Travel Reimbursement
All employees required to use their personal vehicle for official agency business and incur reasonable travel-related expenses will be reimbursed for these expenditures in accordance with the following provisions.
All travel reimbursement requests should be completed and submitted to the accounting department with a supervisor’s authorization by the end of each month in which the travel event occurred. There will be an additional 30-day grace period beyond the last day of the month the travel event occurred in which to submit these reimbursement requests. Any requests received after the 30-day grace period will require substantive justification for the delay and will be subject to the approval of the District Administrator. NGHD will reimburse employee agency mileage in accordance with the current IRS recommended mileage reimbursement rate.
Determination of Business Miles Traveled
Employees may be reimbursed for the mileage incurred from the point of departure to the travel destination. If an employee departs from headquarters, mileage is calculated from headquarters to the destination point.
If an employee departs from his/her residence, mileage is calculated from the residence to the destination point, with a reduction for normal one-way commuting miles. For the return trip, if an employee returns to headquarters, mileage is calculated based on the distance to such headquarters. If an employee returns to his/her residence, mileage is calculated based on the distance to the residence, with a reduction for normal one-way commuting miles."
If it is unreasonable to come to your headquarters prior to your planned destination, then leave from your residence. Example: a 9:00am meeting - leave from your residence; a 2:00pm meeting - report to your headquarters first. Please indicate on your travel form in the explanation for trips section what time your meeting is to begin. When completing the travel form, you should list your origination and destination in terms of the name of a city as opposed to a county name.

According to Shannon Bradburn of Fannin County Environmental Health, a resident on Daves Road off Highway 60 in Morganton heard his dogs yelping on the night of December 25 and he went outside to investigate. The resident saw a skunk attacking his female dog and her two puppies, so he retrieved his gun and killed the skunk.
